Do I need video editing experience?
No. PyxelJam Studio handles the editing. You make the creative decisions - approve shots, choose takes, adjust direction - and the AI does the rest. If you can describe what you want, you can produce a video.
What kind of videos can I make?
Short films, commercials, product videos, UGC-style clips, social media content, microdramas, and episodic series. Output supports 16:9 (widescreen), 9:16 (vertical), and 1:1 (square) formats, so the same project can target YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.
How does the AI generate video?
Your script is analyzed and broken into scenes and shots. Each shot gets a storyboard image generated by AI. Those images are then transformed into video clips using state-of-the-art video generation models, and the clips are assembled into your finished video. You review and approve at every step along the way.
What if I don't like what the AI generates?
Regenerate any shot, scene, or take with one click. In Director Mode, you approve every stage before the pipeline moves forward - nothing ships without your sign-off. You can also generate multiple takes of the same shot and pick the best one, just like reviewing dailies on a real set.
Can I edit a generated image without regenerating the whole shot?
Yes. Open any storyboard image full-screen and type the change you want in the edit bar - for example "change the color of the man's jacket to red", "remove the coffee cup from the table", or "move the car closer to the house". The AI applies just that change and keeps the rest of the image as it was. The edited version is saved as a new take alongside the original, so you can compare and keep whichever you prefer, and you can chain edits in rounds ("a bit darker red"). Each edit costs about the same as one storyboard image. There are also free, instant tools in the same view - brightness, contrast, color grading and flips - that never touch a credit.
Is my content private?
Yes. Your projects, scripts, and generated assets are private to your account and visible only to you and the team members you invite.
Can I use the videos commercially?
On the Standard and Pro plans, yes - everything you generate is yours to use however you want: commercially, on social media, for clients. The free Starter trial is for evaluation, so trial output is not licensed for commercial use.
What is the Director Language Protocol?
The Director Language Protocol (DLP) is an open standard we created that maps the real vocabulary of film directing - framing, lenses, camera movement, blocking, coverage, performance, color, and edit rhythm - into structured direction that AI models can follow. You direct in film language, and PyxelJam Studio translates it into each model's native dialect.
Do I need to know film terminology to use DLP?
No. Every direction is a labeled choice with a plain-English explanation of what it does and why you would use it - so DLP doubles as the fastest film-school class you will ever take. You can also skip it entirely and PyxelJam Studio still works the way it always has.
Will DLP work with new video models as they come out?
Yes - that is the point. Your direction is stored in one standard format. When a new model ships, we add the translation for it, and your existing shots speak to it immediately. Switch models mid-project and your creative direction survives the move.
Which AI models does PyxelJam Studio use?
A curated set of leading image and video models, chosen per task: fast draft models for previews, high-fidelity models for finals, and specialty models for things like native audio. You can pick the model per shot, and the platform shows the credit cost of each choice before you generate.
Can my team work on the same project?
Yes. Standard includes 2 seats and Pro includes 5, with real-time multiplayer collaboration. Everyone shares the same projects, asset libraries, and credit balance. See Account and Team for roles and invitations.
Can characters change clothes between scenes?
Yes - this is built in. Each character keeps one identity and any number of named outfits with generated look images. Scenes assign an outfit per character, generations use the assigned look as the reference, and the continuity checker flags and auto-fixes any shot that renders the wrong clothes. The Costume Department panel can even read your script and propose the whole wardrobe plan (who wears what in which scenes, day by day) for your approval.
How accurate are vehicles - interiors, specific models, license plates?
Vehicle props store make, model, year, color and plate region. Their reference sheet includes exterior views AND the interior (dashboard, cabin) plus a plate close-up, generated to be accurate for that exact make, model and year. Shots inside the vehicle automatically reference the interior; exterior shots reference the body. Plates follow your story's region and era. Exact plate lettering in extreme close-ups is best finished with the inpaint tool.
